Canada. National Energy Board. Office of the Chairman : The Chairman of the National Energy Board was the chief executive officer of the Board and had supervision over and direction of the work and all staff. Past chairmen include Ian N. McKinnon (1959-1968), Dr. Robert D. Howland (1968-1973), Marshall A. Crowe (1973-1978), Jack G. Stabback (1978-1980), C. Geoffrey Edge (1980-1985), R. Priddle (1985-1997), and Kenneth Vollman (1997-). As part of a reorganization in 1981, the Office of the Executive Director was created. This senior management position was to assume the day-to-day administrative duties of the Chairman, including the acquisition and allocation of human and financial resources, and the promotion of efficiency and effectiveness in Board activities and operations.
