Canada. Canadian Army. Canadian Railway Troops. Battalion, 11th : The 3rd Canadian Labour Battalion, predecessor of the 11th Battalion Canadian Railway Troops (CRT), was organized at Bramshott in January 1917 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel W.A. Munro. The majority of its officers and other ranks were from Manitoba. The battalion arrived in France on 10-11 February 1917. It was redesignated as the 11th Battalion Canadian Railway Troops on 29 November 1917. Its authorization was published in General Order 63 of 15 June 1917. The battalion demobilized at Winnipeg and was disbanded by General Order 196 of 1 November 1920.
