Canada. Canadian Army. Canadian Field Ambulance, no. 9 : No. 9 Canadian Field Ambulance (CFA) was organized in Montreal in January 1916 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel C.A. Peters. Its authorization was published in General Order 69 of 15 July 1916. The unit recruited in Military District No. 4, and a number of recruits were drawn from Sherbrooke.

No. 9 CFA embarked at Saint-John on 2 March 1916 aboard SCANDINAVIAN, disembarking in England on 12 March 1916. Its strength was 10 officers and 179 other ranks. The unit arrived in France on 4 April 1916, becoming part of the 3rd Canadian Division. No. 9 Canadian Field Ambulance was demobilized at Montreal in March 1919 and was disbanded by General Order 211 of 15 November 1920.
