Fonds consists of oral history interviews by Dolores MacFarlane. MacFarlane interviews of senior western Canadian citizens about their experiences homesteading in the Peace River area during the period of 1900 to 1920, focusing on the Edson Trail, Brule Mines, Hillcrest Mine explosion of 1914 and the University of Alberta. The fonds also contains a recording of a radio program entitled, Edson Story, about the musical called Look Behind You Neighbour, recorded by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the town of Edson, Alberta. Fonds also includes a speech by Victor Allen, President of the Ungama Association of Inuvik, delivered at the Fourth National Northern Development Conference in November, 1967, in Edmonton.

MacFarlane, Dolores : Dolores MacFarlane is a CBC broadcaster and producer in Western Canada. As executive producer for the six-part CBC television series in 1979 entitled, People Talking Back, she encouraged Canadians to speak about their lives and the economic and social scene across Canada. This series is considered an early example of "interactive" television. Website: 206881
