Informational film on Vancouver harbour and the various industries which depend on its services to transport Canadian raw materials and manufactured goods overseas.~The film includes excellent footage of Vancouver harbour; the George Vancouver monument; Siwash Rock; freighters and passenger ships moving about the harbour; grain elevators and freight yards.~Among the many industries shown are fruit production in the Okanagan Valley; coal, silver, and ore-mining; hemp rope, woolen goods, mattress, and furniture manufacture; fisheries; cattle farming; trapping; logging; and wheat production on the prairies.~Noteworthy footage includes: bathers on a crowded beach in Stanley Park and vintage automobiles entering the park; fishermen hauling in seine nets teaming with herring and salmon; a man sitting astride a giant tuna; shots of the original Vancouver wharf and new Ballantyne Pier; a lovely old three-masted whaler moving through the harbour; a 1920 steam engine ploughing prairie; men seeding by hand, and horses pulling binders through fields of wheat; freight train crossing prairie; HMS Hood, HMS Repulse in harbour; and members of the Vancouver Harbour Commision posing for camera - G.H. Kirkpatrick, Chairman, R.E. Beattie, and S.L. Prenter.
