Grand Trunk Pacific Telegraph Company : The Grand Trunk Pacific Telegraph Company was incorporated under Dominion Act, 6 Ed. VII, Cap. 101 of 13 July 1906 to construct and operate a commercial telegraph system along the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. In addition to the telegraph along the Grand Trunk Pacific the company operated the telegraph along the route of the National Transcontinental Railway until 1919. The telegraph company was taken into receivership with the rest of the Grand Trunk Pacific system in 1919 and from 1922 was operated as part of the Canadian National Telegraph system. Separate accounts were maintained until 1928. The nominal existence of the Grand Trunk Pacific Telegraph Company ended on 8 June 1954 when it amalgamated with and took the name of the Canadian National Telegraph Company. RG30 General Inventory
