Depot Division : The Depot division was created in 1885 as a training center for new recruits, located in Regina. It also housed headquarters staff until 1920. When the RCMP was formed in 1920, the headquarters staff moved to Ottawa, while the Depot division remained in Regina where it currently remains in operation.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Depot Division : Depot Division was established in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1885 and has remained located there ever since. Between 1988 and 1995 its designation was discontinued. In 1995 its divisional status was reinstated and it is currently a Training Academy under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner North West Region. RCMP website, 1572
