Material relating to Illia Shklanka and his wife's life and career and her second husband, a Ukrainian post-World War II refugee.

The accession includes number of photos of Elia Shklanka and his family and associates from the period ca. 1918 - 1975. These photos are generally concerned with the Ukrainian community, particularly in Saskatchewan, but also in Alberta and Manitoba; with cultural activities in the community; with teaching; and with his family. A number of snapshots provide some information about relations between Ukrainians in Polish and Soviet Ukraine and Canadian relatives. Many of the photographs have some identification, almost always in Ukrainian.
The accession consists of correspondence, memoirs, reports, draft manuscripts and other material.

Graphic (photo): The accession includes both formal studio composite portraits of groups of school and institute students, snapshots, and portraits. The photographs were made in Canada, western Ukraine, and Soviet Ukraine.
