Series consists of files relating to Desmond Pacey's work in the English Department at the University of New Brunswick, as well as some files relating to his own writing and publishing career which he had interfiled with the rest. There is considerable overlap between this series and the Correspondence, Scholarly series.

The files directly relating to Pacey's teaching career include correspondence with graduate students and with fellow professors, and records relating to departmental and committee work. There are files on professional associations such as the Association of Canadian University Teachers of English, Canadian Association for American Studies, Canadian Association of University Teachers, Canadian Council of Teachers of English and Modern Languages Association.

The series also includes files on journals such as the "Atlantic Advocate", "Canadian Forum", "Canadian Literature", "Fiddlehead", "Queen's Quarterly", and "Saturday Review", and on the publishers Faber and Faber, J.M. Dent and Sons, Knopf, Macmillan, McClelland and Stewart, Ryerson, and Twayne. There are files on "Our Literary Heritage", the Canadian Authors Association and the BBC, as well as a file of sermons by Pacey.
