Hydro electric power commission of Ontario being equipped with "the largest generating units in the world" at that time. Shows installation of one of the generators in the Queenston Power House for the Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontario. Camera pans over waterway to the power station. On the assembly floor, expert workmen are busy fitting poles to the rotor or field. This is shot from various angles. A crew of special riggers work with a 21-ton equalizer. They are on top of the equalizer as it is lowered down. Intertitles explain the procedure. There are various shots of the procedure at every step, as the large rotor is moved into position. Intertitle identifies the end of Part 1. Part 2 starts with the moving and lowering of the large rotor. Workers ensure that this is going smoothly. They place the rotor in its proper position. Footage shows happy faces of the workers when the move is complete. An intertitle explains the preparation for the upper spider. The current will be produced in the windings. Workers polish the upper spider. There is a large shaft in the centre. The crew ride the spider into position. The spider is placed into position on the shaft. A worker tightens a bolt. Close-up of the guide bearing that will keep the generator shaft in position. This is followed by shots of the huge generator and turbine shafts. Workers measure them. Water flows beside and under the station. Also shown is footage of electrical lines on crossbar poles. There are various longshots of the power plant. <16mn>
