Correctional Service Canada. Halifax District Parole Office : The Halifax District Parole Office is one of 71 parole offices in Canada. The Corrections and Conditional Release Act sets out 5 types of conditional release for federal offenders: temporary absences, work release, day parole, full parole, and statutory release. Decisions on granting full and day parole are made by the National Parole Board; however, supervision of offenders on conditional release is carried out by staff of the Correctional Service of Canada - parole officers - working out of regional and district offices.
