Predecessors include: the Vancouver Agency, the Fraser District Office and Agency, the New Westminster Agency, the Lytton Agency, the South Coast Education District, and the B.C. Region Commissioner's Office.
The accession includes, but is not limited to records relating to: Band management, including census, membership, minutes of council, enlistments, and elections; administration buildings, including administration owned buildings, accommodation in federal buildings, and rented accommodation; medical buildings and installations; school buildings; miscellaneous buildings and projects, including council or community hall, band buildings, and churches; engineering services, including water supply system, bridges, electric power system, and irrigation; equipment and supplies, office - miscellaneous; school supplies, including school furnishings and appliances, schoolroom supplies, and audio-visual aids - mechanical; farming, including livestock, and farm buildings - BC only; finance, including estimates; health services, including treatment services - mental diseases; natural resources, including timber; reports and returns, including quarterly returns - residential schools, annual report on housing, vital statistics, band membership returns, annual reports, and agricultural supervisors reports; social activities; education, including cadet training, day pupils at residential schools, adult education, pupil guidance, school committees on reserves, and educational assistance; trust funds, including savings, trust account statements, commutation, budgets and authorities for expenditure, interest distribution, and salaries for band officials and casual employment; welfare, including aged allowances, care of children, funerals, the blind, and housing; surveys and reserves; rights of way, including power line, miscellaneous, road, and foreshore; leases; individual land holdings, sale of Indian land, including by sale; miscellaneous land matters, including parks and playgrounds, cemetery, and school land; individual case files, including enfranchisement, estates, and miscellaneous; veterans, including Veterans Land Act, and re-establishment of veterans; property damage and protection, including fire loss, forest and prairie fires, and fire prevention; statistics, including census record, and public assistance
