This subseries contains colour transparencies, prints and a few colour negatives from portrait sittings by Yousuf Karsh. Other colour material may exist in other subseries. The material is arranged alphabetically, generally by the name of the sitter. All photographs are arranged in paper file folders, with the sitter's name printed on the top. Karsh appears to have begun using colour film about 1947, beginning with a portrait of William Lyon Mackenzie King. However, there may have been earlier material which was degraded to such an extent that he destroyed it out as part of his move to the Chateau Laurier in 1973.
