Sub-sub-series consists of the registered correspondence of the Railway Branch relating to many aspects of the branch's responsibilities, in particular the incorporation of railroad companies and the granting of cash and land subsidies. All incoming branch correspondence was registered with a consecutive letter number and a subject number, and the records were arranged and maintained by subject. Volumes 40-41 of this sub-sub-series also includes some miscellaneous correspondence and documents.
