Sub-series consists of letters sent to the High Commission by individuals in the United Kingdom. As the official representative of the Canadian Government in the United Kingdom, the High Commission is continually called upon to provide information or assistance pertaining to Canada or Canadian government services. For the time period covered by these records this usually meant requests for addresses in Canada, publications about Canada or tickets for ceremonies.

These letters, and the responses, were organized according to the first letter in the surname of the sender and consecutively numbered, within each year, according to the date received. The letters here represent only an example of local correspondence addressed to the High Commission between 1904 and 1925.
