HMCS Hunter : HMCS Hunter, the Canadian Naval Reserve Division in Windsor, Ontario was officially commissioned on 1 November 1941. The main task of the division, at that time, was the recruiting of men into the RCNVR for the Second World War. As the number of recruits increased, more space became critical necessitating the search for another building. The site chosen was a large "market" located at 960 Ouellette Avenue, the same location that houses HMCS Hunter today. After the necessary modifications and remodelling were completed, the new HMCS Hunter was dedicated on 23 March, 1944. In the past HMCS Hunter has been involved in Gunnery, Seamanship, Navigation, Shipwright and Machine training. HMCS Hunter remained active and in 1995 the Division's strength was 124 reservists.
