Series consists of records of stock and bond issues of Canadian National Railways, its predecessors and subsidiaries created and maintained by the Canadian National Railways Office of the Secretary.

Originally called entitled the Black Book series, these records consist of stock and bond information encompassing the period 1859-1955. The records include agreements, mortgages, opinions, powers of attorney, prospectuses and other related subjects. Also contained in this series are the printed announcements of two bond issues for the period 1921.
