Series consists of ministerial correspondence, operational records and administrative records created by the Office of the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The records cover a wide range of topics such as complaints and inquiries from the public, agreements between Canada and the United States, the Salt Water Sport Fishing Advisory Committee, the Atlantic Herring Management Committee, the Fisheries Council of Canada, the Fisheries Prices and Support Board, the International Pacific Salmon Fisheries Commission, the International Whaling Commission, the Law of the Sea Conference, the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation, coastal waters and compensation programmes. Documents pertain to the tenures of such ministers as Jack Davis, Roméo Leblanc, John Crosbie, Ross Reid, Brian Tobin, Fred Mifflin and John Anderson.
