Canada. Canadian Armed Forces. Air Transport Command : The role of Air Transport Command (ATC) was to provide operationally effective air transport forces, command primary air search and rescue forces for all regions of Canada, and to provide support services to bases and units of other commands as directed. Headquarters were at Trenton and ATC bases were Ottawa, Toronto and Trenton. It maintained Air Movements Units (AMU) at these bases as well as a Canadian Forces Airborne Sensing Unit at Ottawa and eight transport squadrons (412, 413, 424, 435, 436, 437, 440 and 442). The Command was relegated to group status when Air Command was created 1975. RG 24 General Inventory
