Series consists of records which document Seymour Mayne's activities as editor and publisher of Ingluvin Publications, which he founded in 1970 with K.V. Hertz and Alton Berlin. It includes the business and editorial correspondence of Mayne and Hertz, financial records, legal papers, publicity material, address stamp for Ingluvin Publications, and documents pertaining to the Canada Council and the Independent Publishers' Association. The larger part of the series consists of project files and material relating to the little magazine "Ingluvin".
The latter comprises the first two issues, working notes, and poetry and prose manuscripts submitted for the unpublished third issue. These include prose by Dorothy Livesay, Miriam Waddington, B.T. Brett, Leona Gom, Alan Held, Marvin Frankel, and Grant Cameron, and poetry by Patrick Lane, Gail Fox, Pat Lowther, Bryan McCarthy, Avi Boxer, Daryl Hine, Marya Fiamengo, Sharon Stevenson, and Myra Mcfarlane, among others. The project files for Marya Fiamengo's "Silt of Iron" (Montreal: Ingluvin, 1971) contain manuscripts, mock-ups, and a review.
Those for "40 Women Poets of Canada" (Montreal: Ingluvin, 1971) edited by Dorothy Livesay, hold manuscripts, drafts, editorial notes, mock-ups, reviews, and correspondence with many of the poets in the anthology. For Patrick Lane's "The Sun Has Begun to Eat the Mountain" (Montreal: Ingluvin, 1972), there are working manuscripts, drafts, editorial notes, mock-ups, and reviews. The files for Pat Lowther's "Milk Stone" (Ottawa: Borealis Press, 1974), an unrealized project, include preliminary and revised selections of poems.
Slim project files, consisting mainly of reviews, may be found for John Richmond and Bryan McCarthy's translation of "Greek poetry The Singing Cells" (Montreal: Ingluvin, 1970), K.V. Hertz's fictional history "Eurethrea" (Montreal: Ingluvin, 1973), and Ray Fraser's collection of short stories The Black Horse Tavern (Montreal: Ingluvin, 1973).
Oversize material has been placed in volume 14.
