Series consists of files on feature films, documentaries, television projects, commercials, and other projects undertaken by Robin Spry's production company Telescene. Related photographs are also included.
The files include various drafts of scripts; budget files; contracts; pre-production records, including location information, casting files and correspondence with writers; post-production records, including editing files and music score files; and advertising and other promotional material. Among the projects documented are the following: Suzanne, Keeping Track, Obsessed, A Corps Perdu, Malarek, A Street Kid Who Made It, Hit and Run, Une Histoire Inventée, and A Cry in the Night. Also documented are Urban Angel, The Mackenzie Brothers, Iran Update, War in the Holy Land, The History of the CBC and Radio Canada, Disparitions, and Stress and Emotions. The files relating to commercials written, pitched, directed and produced by Robin Spry include ones on M. Muffler, Super Loto, Tourism Canada, Labatt 50, NY,NY!, Bell Canada, Esso, Air Canada, Shell, America Express, Kraft, and the Dairy Bureau of Canada. The series also includes miscellaneous project files, old film ideas, and clippings. There is some material on old projects, including on One Man; Don't Forget/Je me souviens; and Action: October Crisis of 1970.
The additional material consists of Spry's files on various film and television projects largely dating from the last ten years of Telescene's existence, but including some earlier material as well. In general, the files contain correspondence, memoranda, financial records, legal records, scripts, and publicity material. The correspondence is often in the form of e-mail printouts or faxes. Among the projects documented are the films and documentaries Gilles Villeneuve: Speed and Passion, Hiroshima, The Myth of the Male Orgasm, Freak Trade (an underground film by Albert Nerenberg distributed by Telescene), and Going to Kansas City; the television movies Rififi in New York, Witchboard III:The Possession, Escape from Wildcat Canyon, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Lost World, Nightmare Man, Fearless, Matthew Blackheart: Monster Smasher, and a series based on Jack Higgins novels; and the television series Sirens, Student Bodies, The Hunger, Big Wolf on Campus, and Misguided Angels.
The photographs in this series include interior views of restaurants in Montréal and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. The following restaurants are documented: Angelo il Cacciatore, Restaurant Baci, Crocodile, Delta Montréal, L'Élysée mandarin, Restaurant l'Excellence, Le Parchemin, Le Sam, Le Surcouf, Maison Cajun House, Morali Restaurant, Simplon Express; Troika Restaurant - Bar, Vogue Hotel, Witloof. Views of various Québec locations taken for the feature film, "A Cry in the Night" (1993), also comprise this series. The following sites are concerned: Cap-Saint-Jacques, Pointe-aux-Cascades and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. Other photographs consist of scenes from "A Cry in the Night" involving actors Carol Higgins Clark (Jenny), Perry King (Erich), Brigid Tierney (Tina), Amy Fulco (Beth), Annie Girardot (Reine) and Chris Wiggins (Clyde). All photographs seem to be by unknown photographers.
