Series consists of photocopies and transcripts of material documenting various aspects of Traill family history. Some of the material was collected by Lakefield local historian J. John Twist: this includes photocopies of correspondence, 1966-1973, between Twist and descendants of Samuel Strickland, Catharine Parr Traill and Susanna Moodie; manuscripts, n.d., 1972, by Catharine Parr Traill and M.E. Muchall; transcripts of notes, 1947, by Florence Atwood; clippings, n.d., 1855-1973; and miscellany, n.d., 1972-1974, relating to the Strickland, Traill and Moodie families. Also included are photocopies of pages from Catharine Parr Traill's family Bible, copies of transcripts of letters written by Traill, 1866-1867, and copies of genealogical notes by T.R. McCloy. There is also a family history by Catharine Parr Traill transcribed by hand in 1895 by a descendant, Samuel Strickland of St. Paul, Minnesota, and a family tree prepared by K. Douglas Munro in 1997. Material from volume 17 is available on reel H-13.

Location of originals note:

Some of the material was copied in 1974 and 1975 from originals in the possession of J. John Twist, Lakefield, Ontario. Other material was copied by T.R. McCloy of Calgary from originals in his possession and presented to the National Archives.
