Series consists of transcripts of taped interviews, largely by Joan Murray, with and about Canadian artists, for various exhibition and publishing projects including ones on Pegi Nicol MacLeod, the Group of Seven, William Kurelek, Canadian war artists and erotic art. Among the interviewées are André Bieler, David Blackwood, Molly Bobak, John Boyle, Dennis Burton, Jack Bush, A.J. Casson, Graham Coughtry, Ken Danby, Alma Duncan, Ted Godwin, Charles Goldhamer, John Hall, E.J. Hughes, Anne Kahane, Roy Kiyooka, Rita Letendre, Thoreau MacDonald, Robert Markle, Kazuo Nakamura, Mary Pratt and Harold Town, among others.

A second accrual has added two additional interview transcripts found in volume 18 with artists Louis de Niverville and Dave Mackay, although these may be duplicates.

Arrangement note:

The transcripts are arranged alphabetically by interviewée's name in two series: one series of open files (vol. 2 A-E; vol. 3 F-K; vol. 4 L-P; vol. 5 R-W; vol. 6 W-Y) and one series of previously restricted files that are now open (vol. 7-9).
