This sub-series contains the minutes of proceedings of courts martial held on board ships of the Royal Navy. The National Archives has copied courts martial of: Captains J. Soanes, Thomas Butler, and Lieutenants James Dore, and Sidney Cole resulting from the Quebec expedition, 1711 (volume 5268, 9 pages); Captain Robert Paston for the loss of HMS Feversham off Cape Breton, 1711 (volume 5269, 4 pages); Captain F. Hickey for the loss of HMS Atalante, 1813 (volume 5439, 28 pages); Captain Robert Heriot Barclay for the loss of the British squadron on Lake Erie, 1813 (volume 5445, 107 pages); Captain Daniel Pring for the defeat of the British Squadron on Lake Champlain, 1814 (volume 5450, 140 pages). This material is available on microfilm reel C-12856.
