Sub-series consists of correspondence relating to Foster's political career as member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister and Canada's representative on various international committees, 1887-1931. The majority of the correspondence deals with the post-1908 period and includes major sub-series on the elections of 1908, 1911, 1917, the formation of the Borden Cabinet of 1911, and the League of Nations, 1920-1926. Volumes 12, 107-108.

Sub-series also contains correspondence files from the Minister's office, Department of Trade and Commerce, dealing with the activities and development of the department under Foster, 1911-1921, volumes 13-28.
