Series consists of material relating to Dickson's biography of Wells and to a proposed biography of Wells's mistress Moura Budberg. The series contains research material, including Dickson's correspondence with agents and publishers, with other Wells's scholars, with Wells's children and friends, and with readers (included are letters from A.L. Rowse, Storm Jameson and Harold Macmillan, 1969); also included is extensive correspondence with Tania Alexander, Moura Budberg's daughter. The series also contains Dickson's notes and plans relating to his biography, reference material (including a letter, 1911, from the publisher John Lane regarding Wells) and early drafts and revised typescripts and galleys of the biography. The galleys are found in horizontal storage, containers 30 and 31.
