Series consists of documents collected by Dr. Tyrrell in his research on Thompson in particular and the Northwest in general including William Wales' journal of a voyage from Gravesend to the mouth of the Churchill River, 1768-1769; Duncan McGillivray's account of a journey from Rocky Mountain House to the north branch of the Saskatchewan River and into the mountains, typewritten copy, 1800; while surveying in the Thousand Islands area, typewritten copy, 1818; copy, letter from David Thompson to John McGillivray, 11 November 1833, regarding bringing suit for money owed to him, dated 11 November 1883; and an account submitted by David Thompson to the Trustee of the Episcopal Church at Lachine for survey work, original.
