Series consists of material relating to the Church of England in New Brunswick copied from the papers of the Rt. Rev. Charles Inglis (1734-1816) in vols. 1-6 of the transcripts (Transcripts, vol. 8, pp. 1-185, also available on reel C-2227). The items were selected and edited, ca. 1913, by the Ven. William Odber Raymond (1853-1923) of St. John, N.B., by order of the Executive Committee of the Diocesan Synod of Fredericton. The selections were copied in triplicate for the Archives of the Diocese of Fredericton; the Library of the Church of England Institute; and the editor himself, for use in the study of diocesan and parochial history. The copy at the National Archives of Canada is probably the Archdeacon's "working copy." It contains his handwritten introduction, bound with the typescript of the selected documents, and a loose handwritten index that ends with the notation "Indexed by W.O. Raymond, Archdeacon, July 19, 1915".
