Fonds consists of the following series: General correspondence; Editorial correspondence; Editorial files; Working files; Minutes and memos; Special project files; Subject files; Fundraising; Grants; Financial files; Advertising, Circulation, Distribution, Production, Promotion and Subscriptions files; Canadian Periodical Publishers' Association; Administration files; Invitations, Press releases and newsletters; and Reference and published material.

Fonds consists of posters relating to photography exhibitions held in both national and international venues, as well as publications and events. Posters from Canadian galleries include: A Space, Artculture Resource Centre, Concordia Art Gallery, Harbourfront, La Chambre Blanche, Market Gallery, Mercer Union, Optica, Photo Union, Photographers' Union, Powerhouse, Presentation Gallery, Vehicule, and Yajima. International galleries included a large number of posters from the Photographers' Gallery in London, England.

Fonds also contains of photographic material of press releases for various galleries and publishers including: Amon Carter Museum, Cypress Gardens, National Film Board, McCord Museum, S.L. Simpson Gallery, Not Liable Gallery, Rivoli, CMP, Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, CMCP, Talbot Museum, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Aperture, Dalhousie Art Gallery, McMichael, Photo Artists Canada, Optica, Gallery 44, The Market Gallery, Centre for Creative Photography, Art Institute of Chicago. Also included are advertising files for various companies and projects.

General note:

The arrangement of the files reflects, for the most part, the order in which the material was received at the National Archives. Unfiled material, primarily editorial correspondence, memos and gallery information, was added to the appropriate series. Researchers might note that Gail Fisher-Taylor wrote a C.B.C. radio "Ideas" program, based on interviews with photographers and critics, which was aired in May 1989.
