Air Raid Precautions Committee : The Air Raid Precautions (ARP) Committee in Canada was an organization formed during World War II, and was modelled after Britain's ARP organization. The organization was formed in cities and other areas susceptible to wartime attacks. ARP was formed to inform and direct the public in case of war-time attack. The organization held numerous information sessions and lectures for the public on how to react to various war attacks, such as bombs and gas attacks.

In 1941, ARP worked under the Air Raid Precautions Measures, Section 35 of the Defence of Canada Regulations. In Ottawa, ARP was designated Central District, Zone 12, and the Chief Warden was G. H. Rochester.
