Treasury 46 consists of 23 bundles containing victualling lists for troops at Gibraltar and a few other stations, 1763 and 1797. The National Archives of Canada has copied the two volumes in this class which relate to Canada: volume 21, containing 63 lists of officers, soldiers, gunners, and artificers victualled at Halifax and the adjacent commands, 1765-1770; and volume 23, consisting of eight victualling lists for Quebec and Montreal, 1786-1788. Each register contains lists of officers and men victualled in the various regiments, and the quantities of provisions supplied by the contractors and certified by the commanding officers. Includes notes made of rations for Indians, Acadians, distressed soldiers' wives and children.
