Whidden, Nova Scotia (family) : James Whidden of Greenland, New Hampshire is said to have served as a lieutenant at the capture of Louisbourg from the French. In 1760, he went to Truro, Nova Scotia. In 1761, he established his family there and became a grantee of Truro Township. He died on 13 December 1790 leaving four sons: John, David, Samuel and Simeon.
