J.S. Stevens was the first president. In July 1945, after eleven successful seasons in the Grand Theatre, they purchased the theatre and became the first Little Theatre group in Canada to own and operate a legitimate theatre. The London Little Theatre was also associated with the Dominion Drama Festival and won its first trophy in 1936. In 1948, "The Children's Theatre", created by the L.L.T. in co-operation with the London Board of Education, played for the first time. The Mini Theatre, born in 1967, became the experimental part of the main theatre.
In 1971, Heinar Pillar became artistic director, changed the name from London Little Theatre to Theatre London and raised the standards of the theatre to a professional level.Additional information:General note:Received in 1974 from Theatre London, London, Ont.
