Collection search - Charter of the London and Bristol Company [textual record]

The Harleian Manuscripts were collected by Robert Harley (1661-1724) and Edward Harley (1689-1741), 1st and 2nd Earls of Oxford, respectively. In 1753, they were purchased from the Countess of Oxford and Mortimer and the Duchess of Portland, by the British Museum (now the British Library). They are kept as a separate collection catalogued as Harley MSS. 1-7660., Harleian MSS. 589 is a large folio volume containing many miscellaneous tracts and papers bound together because of their large size. In 1914, the National Archives of Canada transcribed one of the items it contains (Document No. 2, ff. 8-16v), because of its Canadian interest.
