Fonds consists of Henry Weinfield's legal brief on the Montreal Jewish School Question in the 1930's. Including minutes and memoranda of the Jewish Education Committee, concerning draft legislation, numerous reports of the Jewish Commissioners to the commission appointed to study and report on the Montreal school system and the Protestant Commissioners.

Weinfield, Henry, 1880-1945 : Henry Weinfield K.C., settled in Montreal with his family in 1887 and was educated at McGill University. He received his B.C.L. in 1903 and practised law in Montreal. An active participant in Jewish communal affairs, he was a member of the Uptown Jewish School Committee, serving as a legal advisor. He played a major role in the Montreal Jewish School Question and assisted Peter Bercovitch, K.C., M.N.A., prepare draft private member's Bills to amend the Education Act.
