The fonds consists of photocopies and transcripts of a vestry book of St. Martin's-in-the-Woods Anglican Church, 1837-1881; and registers for Shediac Parish, 1825-1835, Richibucto Parish 1833-1835, and the parishes of Dundas and Wellington, 1868-1874.

St. Martin's-in-the Woods Church (Shediac Cape, N.B. : Anglican) : The Parish of St. Martin's-in-the-Woods, Shediac Cape, N.B. originally held services in the house of William Hannington. He had received a grant of 5,000 acres at Shediac in 1784 and settled there in 1785, bringing with him a religious library supplied by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge. The present church was built in 1823 and consecrated in 1826 by Rev. John Inglis (1777-1850), third Bishop of N.S. Prior to the appointment of its first rector, Rev. Samuel Edwin Arnold (1805-1885), in 1828, the church was served by visiting clergymen such as Rev. Christopher Milner (1787-1877) from Sackville. The second rector, Rev. John Black (d. 1871), succeeded Arnold in 1832 and was succeeded in his turn, in 1836, by Rev. George Seymour Jarvis (ca. 1806-1881), who died in harness.

The rectors of St. Martin's ministered to settlers in Kent County as well as in Westmorland, and served the population as far to the north as Richibucto. During the incumbency of Jarvis, the curate at Shediac, Rev. Alfred H. Weeks (d. 1895), acting as a missionary of the Diocesan Church Society of Fredericton, seems to have worked as an itinerant clergyman serving the contiguous parishes of Dundas and Wellington to the north of Shediac in Kent County. Weeks appears to have been actually stationed at Buctouche from about 1864-1873, during which time St. Lawrence's Church, Buctouche, was built, in 1865, and consecrated, in 1870.
