Church, Thomas Langton, 1870-1950 : Thomas Langton Church, born in 1870 at Toronto, Ont., received his education from Toronto and Trinity University. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1897 and practised law in Toronto. He was a director of Consumers Gas Co., Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto Public Library Board. He was a Toronto alderman, 1905-1909, Controller, 1910-1914, and Mayor, 1915-1921. He was Chairman of the Toronto Harbour Commission from 1909-1910.

Except for a short period, 1930-1934, he served as a Member of the House of Commons from 1921 to his death in 1950.
