Collection consists of the following microfilmed material: selected newspapers and other documents relating to the Lakehead area, 1824-1967. Noteworthy items include the correspondence between John Mackenzie and F. Shepherd, A.P. Edwards and Thomas C. Child; the Coal Handlers Union minute book, 1911-1917 and several documents concerning the building of the Dawson Road. This material is located on microfilm reels M-3761 to M-3765.

Collection also consists of a video copy of two films spliced together, one an American commerical release, probably for the home market, of a newsreel story about the first transatlantic flight of the Graf Zeppelin, and the second item consistsing of footage shot by Fred Cooper of logging operations in the Thunder Bay area and the waterfront. It appears that the American footage was intentionally spliced to the head of the Thunder Bay footage to give it the appearance of a newsreel, [1927-1929].
