Erlebach, Cyril Woodland, b. 1884 : Major Cyril Woodland Erlebach, born in 1884 at London, England, received his education at Leipzig University. He served in World War I, from 1914 to 1918. He was in the Royal Canadian Naval Voluntary Reserve, 1914-1915, a private of the 48th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, 1915 and promoted to Company Sergeant-Major and then Lieutenant in 1916. He joined the Canadian Corps staff (Intelligence) in 1917 and attained the rank of Major. From 1919 to 1920, he represented Canada on the Battle Committee, London. During this same period, he gathered data from French and British war diaries for a Canadian Official History of the 1st World War.
