Fonds consists of typescript biographical sketches with manuscript annotations by Edmund Morris of the Honourable William Morris; Colonel the Honourable Philip Van Koughnet; the Honourable Philip Michael Van Koughnet; Captain Edmund Van Koughnet; and Sir Daniel Jones; a typescript review of military settlements on the Rideau River with manuscript annotations.

Fonds consists of two portraits, both done in 1906, when Morris accompanied Indian Affairs Commissioner Duncan Campbell Scott on Treaty Expedition Nine to James Bay. The portraits are of Peter Mitigonabie (Long Peter) and Shabogejickwabe (Through the Sky), both Ojibeway.

Fonds also includes one pastel drawing of Shabogejickwabe (Through the Sky), an Ojibway Indian whom the artist met while accompanying the Treaty Nine Commissioners to Northern Ontario in 1906. Other art depictions include Dwight Wiman Clubhouse; Landslide on Cold River Portage-Labrador Felspar Rock; Perpendicula Rocks - on the Moisie River and Second Lake; Flood Scene in Grand Lake Nova Scotia; portrait of Elizabeth A. McGillivray Knowles; portrait of Peter Mitigonabie (signator of James Bay Treaty No. 9).

Works are by unknown artist; W.G.R. Hind; G.H. Best; Farquhar McGillivray Strachan Knowles; Edmund Montague Morris; one photographic portrait of Hon. George Brown.

Morris, Edmund Montague, 1871-1913 : Edmund Morris, artist, was the son of the Hon. Alexander Morris, Lieutenant-Governor of Manitoba and the North West Territories, 1872-1877.

After studying painting in New York and Paris, E.M. Morris returned to Canada in 1896. In 1906 he was commissioned by the Ontario Government to paint the Ojibway of Northern Ontario. For this he accompnaied Duncan Campbell Scott, Indian Affairs Commissioner on Treaty Expedition Nine to James Bay. In 1907 he was commissioned to paint portraits of Indian bands for the Parliament Buildings in Toronto. He also painted portraits of native chiefs for the Alberta and Saskatchewan governments. Morris was elected an associate of the Royal Canadian Academy in 1897, and in 1908 helped found the Canadian Art Club.
