Kristjanson, Wilhelm, b. 1896 : Wilhelm Kristjanson was born near Lundar, Manitoba. He studied at Oxford University and pursued a career as a writer, achieving prominence in the Icelandic-Canadian community for works in both Icelandic and English. In 1955, he joined the staff of The Icelandic Canadian, published in Winnipeg, and in 1969, became the paper's editor-in-chief. He is the author of The Multilingual Press in Manitoba, 1974 and Icelandic People of Manitoba, 1965.
