General note:

Item was sent by Shaw's son to the Provincial Archivist of British Columbia who sent it to the Directorate of History at the Department of National Defence. It was then forwarded to the National Archives.
Transferred from State and Military Records Section, Government Archives Division.
Correspondence on file gave the indication the record book was accompanied by three World War I maps. No trace of these documents can be found.
