Fonds consists of personal files, 1945, 1977-1980; general correspondence and memoranda file, n.d., 1951-1981; subject files relating to Wagg's work the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), the Ontario Educational Communications Authority series of television programmes on labour history, the CLC Labour Education and Studies Centre, and other aspects of labour education, n.d., 1946, 1962-1980; printed material and clippings, relating primarily to labour history, n.d., 1935, 1940-1981; memorabilia including NDP stickers and an armband and marshall's armband for the Day of Protest against wage controls, n.d., 1956.

Fonds contains photographs showing activities and conferences of the Labour Institute, First Canadian Labour Congress Ontario Summer School, and the Canadian Labour Congress Summer School.

The fonds contains sound recordings, [1970]-1980, of: a group discussion at the Canadian Labour Congress Summer School on education in the labour movement; a sound documentary entitled, Glimpses of the Past - Canadian Association for Adult Education, 1935-1975; a sound recording of a panel discussion, The Concerns of Special Interest Groups, at the symposium Education Canada, with P.C. Paul, R. Lalonde, and Larry Wagg.

The fonds also contains 3 Canadian Labour Congress badges, [ca. 1975].

Wagg, Larry, 1926-

Wagg, Larry, 1926- : Larry Wagg was born in Grey County, Ont. and received his education in Guelph, Ont. In 1943, he became an apprentice member of the International Typographical Union (I.T.U.), Local 393, in Guelph. After becoming a journeyman member of the I.T.U. in 1948, Wagg served as President of the Guelph local and later became President of Brantford Local 378. From 1953 to 1956, Wagg was secretary-treasurer of the Brantford and District Labour Council, and when the new Brantford Labour Council was formed after the merger of the Canadian Congress of Labour and the Trades and Labour Congress of Canada, Wagg became the Council's first President.

Wagg joined the staff of the Canadian Labour Congress in 1961, serving as educational representative for Ontario region before moving on to become regional education director for the prairie Provinces in 1967. In 1970, he returned to Ontario to hold the position of Ontario regional director. In 1974, Wagg was appointed assistant director of education for the C.L.C. and one year later he was appointed director. In August 1981, Larry Wagg left the C.L.C. to accept an appointment as labour consellor for Great Britain and the Scandinavian countries at the Canadian High Commission in London.
