Fonds consists of a grant of 1092 acres in Windham Township, Norfolk County, to Johnson Butler, 1796; a deed to land at Niagara, obtained from Angus MacDonnell, 1801; and a quit-claim to land near Grande Fourche from William J. Teller to Johnson Butler, 1802.

Butler, Johnson, died 1812 : Johnson Butler was a son of John Butler, Commander of Butler's Rangers, with which unit he had served. Johnson Butler settled in Lincoln County and became Lieutenant-Colonel of the 4th Lincoln Militia.
