Fonds consists of the papers of Hughson and Company including correspondence with several firms in Ontario and New York State in which J.C. Hughson had an interest, such as Higbie Douglas Co., Salisbury Co., Hutchkiss, Hughson & Co., Phelps, Dodge & Co., and the Muskoka Mill Company as well as accounts and account books; papers of the Hughson family.

Fonds also consists of a tintype photograph depicting Gertrude E. Hughson and Mary P. Strain.
