This is a recording of a program in the weekly religious radio series BACK TO THE BIBLE HOUR. The program opens with a hymn, set to a modified version of the tune of "O Canada". Ernest C. Manning introduces the program, emphasizing the need for a "national spiritual awakening" for all people, not just born-again Cristians. Manning leads a prayer. Following a hymn, he gives a "message of redemption". The show's theme song "The Sweet By and By" is sung. Manning asks the congregation to shake hands with a neighbour. He gives a sermon on moral degeneracy and the evil defects in human nature, appealing to his listeners to "give God a chance". Referring to the upcoming Centennial year, he calls on Canada to "resolve to put to a practical sense as a nation God's promises to make new creatures of all who will receive his son". Manning urges a revival of prayer groups in every community. There are several songs played by a violinist. The recording ends with the announcement that this radio program is broadcast live at 2:30 on Sunday afternoons. Calgary radio station CFCN is changing the time slot to 8:30 a.m. Sunday mornings.
