Fonds consists of a portion of a diary kept during a visit to France attributed to Sir Edward Newenham, dated October to November [1782]. Included are an anecdote of Franklin concerning the boundary discussions during the peace negotiations, and references to the Marquis de La Fayette, John Jay, and other prominent individuals. There are a number of clippings, engravings and sketches interleaved, and a typescript note concerning the attribution to Newenham. Originals, 34 pages. These papers are also available in photocopy.
