Additional information:General note:Louis Riel est élu à l'élection générale de février 1874 dans la circonscription de Provencher, au Manitoba. Il se rend à Ottawa pour signer le registre d'assermentation (registre des députés), mais il est expulsé avant d'avoir siégé en raison d'une motion présentée par Mackenzie Bowell, chef de l'Ordre d'Orange de l'Ontario.
