They were also known as engagés, or employees. The voyageurs were French-Canadian, Métis, English, First Nations and German.
"Voyageurs at Dawn" (Caption title, Canadian History Hall).Custodial history:This painting, along with three others, was acquired from the estate of Mrs. Hopkins by Andreson Galleries of New York.
