Fonds consists of journals; correspondence relating to his publications; correspondence and papers relating to Roderick F. MacFarlane, a retired chief factor of Hudson's Bay Co.; and correspondence and papers relating to Lord Strathcona, 1843-1934; Microfilmed journals and correspondence of Henry Beckles Willson, 1888-1917, 1934, are located on microfilm reels A-1635 and A-1636.

Fonds also contains photographs of Château de Ramezay, Montreal; Hudson's Bay Company post; Hudson's Bay store at Mingan; men of the Hudson's Bay Company with a dogteam in front of a post [in Labrador]; Lord Strathcona driving last spike in C.P.R., 6 Nov. 1880; and a print showing Northwest River post, Hudson's Bay Co., Labrador, n.d.

Willson, Beckles, 1869-1942 : Beckles Willson was born in Montreal and educated in Kingston. He served as a correspondent for the London Daily Mail and other newspapers. His numerous books on various aspects of Canadian history included his well-known "The Life and Letters of James Wolfe" (1909) and his "Life of Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal" (1915). He was one of the founders of the Wolfe Society and was instrumental in arranging for the preservation of Quebec House at Westerham, Kent.
